2021 An Endless Stream of Dark Clouds
But we were fortunate to find some silver linings
Before we kicked 2020 to the curb—good riddance, right?—we looked back and discovered there were many successes our team members can be proud of.
Incredible Safety Streak
Our safety streak of no lost time due to accidents reached 1,825 consecutive days—five years!—on July 23. (And the streak is still streaking. We celebrated 2,000 straight days on Jan. 13, 2021.)
Safety Awards
It’s no coincidence then that we won numerous safety awards: gold for Employee Safety and two silvers for Fleet Safety, and Combined Employee and Fleet Safety, from the Wisconsin Landscape Contractors Association (WLCA); We were awarded a silver for Safety Recognition from the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP). We received Snow & Ice Management Association’s (SIMA) Safety Award; and The Leadership In Safety Award from the Milwaukee Construction Industry Safety Council & Associated General Contractors of Greater Milwaukee.
Project Awards
Speaking of awards, we won two state gold landscaping awards from WLCA: one for Residential Landscape Management and one for Colorscaping. We also received a national bonze Award of Excellence for Commercial Landscape Management from NALP.
Some other silver linings:
- Received ISO’s Three-Year Snow and Ice Recertification, the only company in Wisconsin with this ISO certification.
- Named one of the largest landscape companies in the country by both Landscape Management and Lawn & Landscape magazines.
- Ranked #26 nationally in Snow Magazine’s top 100 companies.
- Recognized as one the Best Places to Work in Snow & Ice by SIMA.
- Our downtown branch relocated to larger, more functional facility and yard.
- Named Best Landscape Design Company in the 2020 Reader Rankings from The Daily Reporter, Wisconsin’s construction-related news source.
- Our new holiday décor building, built next to the downtown branch, was finished and functional.
- Approximately 1,300 trees, our nursery’s future, were planted.
