DJFLCI donated (and assembled) an amazing Christmas display in support of Illuminate Ozaukee, a 12-night holiday experience that raises money for nonprofit organizations in Ozaukee County.
Christmas in Oz
Businesses and nonprofits have turned Herman A. Zeunert Park in Cedarburg into a winter wonderland where visitors can wind through the park in their vehicles while enjoying unique lights and decorations. For added fun, plots along the path will be numbered so visitors may vote for their favorite display.
Our display is called Christmas in Oz, as in The Wizard of Oz (and Oz for Ozaukee). It includes the front doors to the Emerald City, a yellow brick road, and a character cutout for photos. The castle is made of fresh-cut pines in green and warm white lights and green spotlights. (The photo doesn’t do it justice because it wasn’t finished yet–plus it’s meant to be viewed at night.)
This display was designed by Holiday Décor Manager Chad Solamita and built by carpenter BJ. Installing it on Monday were Team Members Noah, Scott, Mia, and Jake.
Illuminate Ozaukee runs every Friday and Saturday from 5 pm to 8 pm between Nov. 26 and Dec. 23 (the only day it is on a Thursday). It’s drive-through only with the exception of a VIP night on Dec. 8 when it’s a walking-only experience meant to be enjoyed at a slower pace.
The admission price is a suggested donation of $10 (cash, credit, or text to donate available). For more information or to register for the VIP walk-through, visit https://ozaukeenonprofitcenter.org/illuminate-ozaukee/
