Suburban Retreat

This Brookfield family was ready to move from a backyard pool to a multi-level entertaining space with a wood burning fireplace and custom outdoor kitchen.

Client Need

Backyard entertainment space in place of the existing in-ground pool.

Inspiration

Converting an inground pool area to a multi-terraced entertainment space.

Favorite Element

The grand staircase coming from the upper private terrace to the entertainment plaza.

Biggest Challenge

At first the client wanted to keep the original deck, so trying to retro fit a new landscape for the client’s needs around the existing deck was a challenge. The deck was eventually eliminated.

Proudest Accomplishment

Developing a design that meets the client’s needs and personality. After two years of being completed, the client is still wowed every time they step out.

Tough Moment

Engineering the grand staircase and how to transition the grade along the house from the private terrace to the entertainment plaza.

Fond Memory

Watching the first Green Bay Packer game in the newly constructed backyard.
