Color is so important to this client that it’s referenced in his company’s name: Spectrum Investment Advisors. Spectrum refers to the simple color system he patented that identifies key financial trends to help guide clients in making informed choices. After the client built a new headquarters in a neglected area of Mequon where he recognized potential, he used color once again—in the form of landscaping—to stimulate $140 million dollars of development within 800 feet of the office.
The client’s vision was to “change the landscape with landscaping.” That didn’t happen at first, however. The original landscaping was lackluster and not up to his high standards. The client recognized this and turned to us in 2016 to add, in his words, “a wow factor.”
To get the eye-popping results the client wants takes weekly maintenance, especially the care we put into managing the beds and the pruning of trees and shrubs. Coming up with ways to provide color throughout the year are discussed yearly with the client. In spring, the spring snow crabs show off as the plants begin to green. Is summer, the Double Knock Out cherry red roses and different daily lilies are brilliant and prominent. In fall, red oaks and autumn blaze maples put on a display. In winter, the evergreen shrubs including the numerous boxwoods and the red twig dogwoods provide color even when it’s cold.
Now that the area is a popular destination and 22,000 cars pass by the company daily, the emphasis is on keeping the landscaping “top shelf and spotless” and looking lively and inviting in all four seasons. Not only did we help this client enhance his initial landscape design and fulfill his dream, but our detailed landscape management efforts make sure his property remains the jewel of the area.
