David J. Frank Receives Six State Awards in 2021
Recognition received at the prestigious Excellence in Landscaping Awards Program.
All six of our entries in the 2021 Wisconsin Landscape Contractors Association Awards Program recently received awards. Four golds, a silver, and a bronze. Three of the four golds were for residential landscape maintenance and one was for residential design-build. Each project has its own engaging backstory.
The Boat House

A grand plan that was an epic logistical challenge from day one. The elevation change from the top of the bluff to the site was about 80 feet with a grade close to 40 percent–not to mention the slope was vegetated with trees and understory plant material. Read more

Located on a busy road, people driving by constantly slow down to take in the idyllic magnificence and beauty of the area’s Xanadu.
The authentic Victorian-style main residence includes many multi-season pocket gardens requiring weekly gardening, pruning, and debris removal. The other three homes have more traditional designs and different levels of service. They boast gardens of hostas, roses, hydrangeas, and many perennials and shrubs. Read more

The northwest Milwaukee area where this property was located had lost its luster. So, we were hired seven years ago to help rejuvenate the “new” 18-acre Parkland Center.
Parkland Center was renovated to provide a modern and inviting work environment for employees and visitors. The client wanted landscaping that matched their sustainability efforts and their new and improved facilities. Read More

Badger Meter is a worldwide leader in the marketing and manufacturing of innovative waterflow management products. With their global headquarters located near Milwaukee’s North Shore, they are also a community icon.
Coming out of the Great Recession the landscaping at Badger Meter had deteriorated into an unkept mess filled with sick trees and unwanted invasives. To their credit, the company acknowledged that their 25-acre grounds were not indicative of a global leader and an environmentally concerned company. Hence, Badger Meter partnered with us five years ago to resurrect their landscaping. Read More
